Camera Angle

Lighting

Describe how its used

This is a mix of long and medium
shot, you are able to see half the
body, but should be able to see the
full body also
High angle is being portrayed in
this scene, the camera angle is
looking down at the characters.
I am strongly convinced that this
picture portrays top lighting,
because of how the light is shining
on the characters face

What is the effect that it offers to the

viewer? How does it portray the
characters individually and in
relationship to other characters?
You can see all gestures and can also see full
facial expressions.
C haracter often gets swallowed up by their
setting - they become part of a wider picture.

Clearly able to see the facial expressions.

Camera
Movement

Describe how its used

1. 80% of the frame was filled with
Atticus head, which is making
this a close up frame shot.
2. By seeing Atticus full body view in
one of the scenes, my assumption is
that its portraying a long shot frame.
In one particular scene the mob was
looking up at Atticus, and they gave a
Top-lighting to that particular scene
1. The kids were looking up at Atticus,
which was an example of low angle
2. Atticus was also looking down while
speaking to the mob. This particular
scene is showing high angle.
1. I noticed that one of the movements
where tracking , it was shown in the
beginning when the camera was
moving with the children

2. In one part of the clip the camera

zoomed in on Atticuss face

Sound
Editing

While the characters are talking , it

portrays that is more of a scripted
speech, there wasnt no music
1. The film portrays a montage editing
while it was moving from scene to
scene
2. When the mob tried to pick up and
hurt the kids and the kids retaliated
by hitting them and also kicking
them portraying a jump cut.

What is the effect that it offers to the

viewer? How does it portray the
characters individually and in
relationship to other characters?
This is letting the viewer know that Atticuss
facial expression plays a big role in that scene, it
was actually done to see his mood
By showing the long shot frame , its portraying
his body gestures on how he was speaking to the
mob
The light was shining down on the crowds face
while Atticus was speaking to them. The shadow
was block out.
While the kids were looking up to atticus, it gave
a sense that the kids respected Atticus, which
gave him more of a superior look.
This angle is giving Atticus a superior look, while
the crowd looks up to him, it gives them a
inferior look.
The viewers can feel like they are somewhat
moving with the children in this movement.
While the children were running and the camera
was moving along, it gives a feeling that we are
there with the children, running with them.
While the kids ran in, it zoomed in om Atticuss
face too see his expression while they were
running in.
It gave the viewers a feel of how each of the
characters sound like and there accents, also
there tones of voices
Viewers were receiving a lot of information while
it was moving from scene to scene very quickly.
In one scene it showed the kids kicking one of
the men then it went to another scene when the
kids were hitting the men, and then back to the
kicking scene. It didnt show them being done at

the same time
