CHARACTER PARADE

Ridgecrest Elementary Literacy

Campaign
Our school participated in the Book
Character Parade where students
showcased different book
characters. My class read Where
the Wild Things Are by author
Maurice Sendak and paraded down
school hallways dressed as Max.

CHARACTER PARADE
For this project I had to create a flyer inviting
parents and family members to our school to
celebrate literacy. Even though, the reading
campaign is for the entire school year, I was in
charge of coordinating the Story Book Character
Parade for the month of November.

STORY BOOK CHARACTER PARADE

The purpose of this project was to promote the importance of literacy. Our
common goal was to involve parents, school faculty/staff, and students. By
making reading fun and special, students developed the love of learning
through literacy. I am glad I was given the opportunity to lead this activity.

MORE ARTIFACTS
I had to use a map of the school to
map-out the parade.

Communication with
school faculty/staff is
important.
