If I where to choose a media

institution to distribute my
product I would chose channel 4

 MORE ABOUT FILM4

• Film4 is a free digital television channel in the United Kingdom and Republic of
Ireland, owned and operated by Channel 4, that screens films.
• Film4 was launched on 1 November 1998
• The channel frequently has themed nights or seasons in which a number of films
centred around one genre
• As Channel 4 also owns a film production company, Film4 Productions, it shows
many of its in-house productions.
• The company has been responsible for backing a large number of films made in
the United Kingdom
 WHY FILM4 ?
• Film4 and Film4 productions are generally known for screening British backed
movies. As my media product is within the British genre and is 100% British it
will fit in perfectly with what film4 support.
• When you look at the films film4 have made and supported it suggest once again
that film4 would be the best media institution for our media product.
• For example film4 made and screen ‘ This is England’ by Shane meadows which
gives a down to earth representation of Britain. My media product ‘Don’t look
back’ also does this and also includes violence and strong language just as ‘ This
is England’ does.
• Film4 mainly attracts a British audience and does not generally take its films
over seas. This will be ideal for my media product as it is aimed at British people
and may not appeal to people from other countries and cultures.
