ABSTRACT:
Over the years there had been a lot of
technological advancements in the
development of Television. From the
Monochrome television to the present
Smart TVs there had been numerous no. of
technologies being implemented.
All these years we have seen
advancements only in technology, size,
picture quality etc, but we werent able to
take advantage of the screen provided.
What if two people wanted to watch
different channels at the same time?
So, my topic illustrates how we can
actually take advantage of the present
generation technologies to split the screen
of the present television and use the
screens for different applications. SPLITSCREEN TV
Splitting of the current televisions screen
for different applications is Split-screen
Television.
This splitting may be classified into:
1.Analog-Analog, 2.Analog-Digital,
3.Digital-Digital
1. Analog-Analog: When two different
people wanted to watch two different

channels at the same time, the present day

televisions does not support the same.
Hence my idea is to first put the television
in PIP mode and then use an analog splitter
to split the dish into two screens, so that
simultaneous tuning of channels is
possible in both the screens and give the
audio of screen1 to inbuilt speakers and
audio of screen2 to headphone jack which
is impossible with the modern day
televisions.
2. Analog-Digital: Present day smart
televisions can access even the internet
which is digital in nature. So, we use the
same idea as presented in classification 1
and take advantage of the split screens and
access internet from one screen and watch
television as usual from the other For
example Youtube (digital) in screen1,
Television (analog) in screen2.
3. Digital-Digital: With this both the split
screens can access the internet or any
digital data from HDMI cables etc.,
The main procedure to be done here is to
embed the hardware (processor of
television, analog splitter), software ( user
interface to select different channels, mode
of input to the screen, audio).
