Indonesian Digital Television Broadcast

Indonesia is entering the era of free-to-air terrestrial digital television broadcasting (free
digital tv broadcasts). This digital television broadcasting system is capable of transmitting picture
and sound signals with sharper and clearer reception quality on the TV screen than analog
broadcasts. Digital television is broadcast audio (sound), video (picture), and other additional
information that is transmitted in digital format. The word "digital" itself is very often used in the
language of modern technology and generally refers to a physical entity that is quantized and
represented by binary characters. So don't be mistaken with the notion of Digital TV. Digital
television is not just an LCD / flat screen TV that is widely circulated in the market today. LCD
TVs, LED TVs or plasma TVs sold in the Indonesian market today may not necessarily be able to
capture digital TV broadcasts (DVB-T2) because they are not equipped with a DVB-T2 tuner.
Currently there are several brands of TV built in tuners DVB-T2 sold in the Indonesian market.
Terrestrial digital television broadcasting is broadcasting that uses VHF / UHF radio frequencies
as well as analog broadcasting, but with digital content formats. In analog television broadcasting,
the farther away from the television transmitting station the signal will be weaker and the image
reception will be poor and shadowy. It is different with digital television broadcasting which
continues to deliver clear images and sound to the point where the signal can no longer be received.
The government has a role not only as a regulator but also socializing Digital TV. The government
has carried out socialization and prepared various facilities to build awareness and readiness of the
public to welcome the era of Digital TV broadcasting. Billboard Digital TV has spread in several
big cities, such as Jakarta, Bandung and Surabaya. Socialization was also carried out through
Twitter social media by following @TVDigital_IDN as well as the TVdigital.Kominfo Facebook
Fan Page. In addition, the Halo TV Digital call center service has been operating for 24 hours at
number 500801 to serve people who want to know more about Digital TV programs. You can also
