Television is one of the best types and forms of mass media in terms of the technology
used, and the most expensive in terms of the investment invested. Television is very supportive
of the power of very complex electronic equipment. This is what is called a technical medium.
For example, without electricity, it is impossible for television broadcasts to be broadcast and
received by viewers anywhere. The investment that must be spent to establish a commercial
television station, which is professionally managed with a national scope, reaches hundreds of
billions of rupiah. This technology-intensive and capital-intensive nature causes television to be
very compromising with the interests of capital owners and the commercial values of global
capitalization. One of the excesses, television language often appears vulgar. Loaded with
dimensions of violence and sadism, or even trapped in vulgar sexual exploitation. Criticism after
criticism continues to flow from the public who care about the nation's future.
The transition from analog television sets to digital television sets requires the
replacement of television transmitting and receiving television sets. In order to receive digital
broadcasting, a digital TV set is required. However, if you want to keep using analog television
sets, digital broadcasts can be captured with an additional device called an STB (Set Top Box)
converter box. When using an analog television set, the digital broadcast signal will be converted
by the converter box into an analog signal. Thus users of analog television sets can still enjoy
digital television broadcasts. Analog television users can still use analog broadcasts and are
slowly switching to digital broadcasting technology without being interrupted by broadcast
services that have been used so far. The transition process that runs slowly can minimize the risk
of losses, especially those faced by television operators and the public.
These risks include information about broadcast programs and additional devices that
must be installed. Before people were able to change their analog television to digital television,
people received analog broadcasts from television transmitters that broadcast digital television
broadcasts.
Studio is a place to produce and supply television station programs. The production
process in the studio must be connected to the MCR. When a program is produced in a studio,
the MCR becomes important to set the course of the production. Video and audio will be sent to
MCR. Program production in the studio can be live (directly broadcast to viewers) for example
music, sports, and news programs or recording (programs are recorded beforehand or known as
taping). Inside the studio there are several integrated systems, namely audio (mixer system),
video (camera system), lighting (lighting system) and art (art design).
Live broadcasting is a production process that is in accordance with the reality at that
time so that what is seen on television viewers is a real picture of both time and location. Live
broadcasting has a risk of failure both technical and operational problems. Live broadcasts have
a program time slot that is difficult to predict the accuracy of completion, so that if the live event
fails, it will automatically interrupt the next program.
