SUMMARY:
My name is Makayla Johnson. In High School, I started taking concurrent
enrollment through Salt Lake Community College. When I graduated High School
in 2013, I also graduated with an Associates of Science (AS) Degree. Continuing
with my education, I decided to stay at Salt Lake Community College and pursue
my major, American Sign Language/English Interpreting. I got accepted into a two
year Interpreting Training Program and will graduate in 2016 with an Associates of
Applied Science (AAS) Degree. During my last semester in the program, I did an
interpreting internship at Salt Lake Community College and Jordan School District.
I plan on transferring in Fall 2016 to USU and earn a Bachelors Degree.
I am a dedicated and hard worker with a great attitude and see myself as a leader
and not a follower. I will initiate work that needs to be done and will do the best
work possible to get it done.
I am very involved with my home church, Calvary Chapel of Salt Lake City. I am
the Worship coordinator for the Youth Ministry Worship Team and have been
singing on the Adults worship Team for about 4 years. My husband and I have
started to get involved with our Young Adults ministry as well for the past couple
months. I have interpreted the church multiple times and have thoroughly
enjoyed it.
I have been married for 3 years (October 2016) to a wonderful man that has
supported me immensely when pursing my career.
