the learner-centered
classroom!
It affects the learning experience,
classroom environment, assessment of
learning and role of the teacher.
Students will be inspired to be engaged
thinkers, ethical citizens and display an
entrepreneurial spirit!

Nature of Children...
"Children are like a sponge, retaining
everything they hear and see."
Eager to learn, explore and be creative.
Set goals to always be successful.
Learn in variety of different ways.
Like to HAVE FUN!!!!!

A place that is SAFE, COMFORTABLE and TRUSTING!
Incorporates relationship building activities.
Table groupings: collaboration, teamwork, mutual
respect, embrace differences.
Materials and resources are accessible and organized.
Structure and consistency!

Assessment of
Learning...
Must be relevant to learning outcomes.
Provide choice of project or presentation type.
Set goals as a class and individually.
Clearly state expectations prior to beginning
project.

My ROLE as a Teacher...
Develop relationships with students that inspires
them.
Teach to students interests and experiences.
Create a classroom of respect!!
Characteristics: enthusiastic, positive,
compassionate, role model, accepting and
respectful.
