INQUIRY-BASED LESSON:

Investigating a key mathematical concept for

KG and primary levels.

Inquiry based learning:

Inquiry like seeking for truth and new information, like you ask questions about
new resolutions and issues , in the same time you gaining a new information.

The Five E's:

1- Engage :
A. In this stage, the teacher let the students involve with the lesson, in this way will be
more comfortable and give the teacher more attention.

B. I will put a short video about counting and i will let the student do what in
the video to involve with the lesson.

2- Explore:
A. In this stage the students have the opportunity to involve themselves in the activities
in teams so they can share and communicate with each other. so the teacher have to
provide the materials for the students so they can explore more.

B. I will do an activity about counting, it will be two spinners one the is

numbers from 1 to 10, and the other spinner will have picture about what
they will do, Example: they will spin the first spinner it will be 3 and then
they will spin the other one it will be clapping so they must to clap 3 times
and each student will do it once.

3- Explain:
A. In this stage the student have to explain what he has understand or what the student
has done in the activity and what he benefit from the activity, and what they have been
exploring.

B. I will question the students and I will let them to explain what they do, by
taking them in front the students and let them know what he have done.

4- Extend :
A. In this stage the teacher give them more knowledge about how they can
link between the lesson and real life .
B. My partner Fatima will let them watch through the window and count
how many trees or flowers and what they can see in the nature.

5- Evaluate:
A. In this stage the student has attained understanding of concepts and
knowledge. the teacher have to evaluate students understanding of key
concepts and skill development.
B. My partner fatima she will give then worksheets about counting so she
know if they understand or not.
