INQUIRY-BASED LESOON

Investigating a key mathematical concept for KG


and primary levels.

Inquiring based learning:


An old adage states: Tell me and I forget, show me and I remember,
involve me and I understand. (Inquiry-based Learning, 2004). Inquiring
based learning is to involve the learner to understand and learn more by
doing and asking question. The mainly of inquiring based learning is to get
information and applying them to senses like smelling, tasting, touching,
hearing and seeing. (What is Inquiry Based Learning, 2016).

The Five Es:


1. Engage:
A. On this stage the student have to make connection between what
they know and what them going to learn. On this stage of the 5 Es
the student must thinking and understand the information very well.
B. My partner Aisha will introduce the lesson with video about
counting.

2. Explore:
A. This phase of the 5 E's the student will develop them skills by
exploring and doing.
B. Aisha will play with the student an activity about counting.

3. Explain:
A. The students explain the concepts they have been exploring and
the teacher can know from this stage if the student understand or
not.
B. My partner will ask question about the lesson and the student well
explain. I will do an activity the student going to read the number
and play.

4. Extend:
A. This stage allow the students to talk about their own experiences on
them life and get more information about areas around them by
discussing with their friend.
B. I well let the student to see from the window and count the trees
out said.

5. Evaluate:
A. This phase of the 5 E's encourages learners to assess their
understanding and abilities and lets teachers evaluate students'
understanding of key concepts and skill development. (The 5 Es,
2002)
B. I going to give the students a worksheets to be sure and know if
they understand or not.
