Set Induction: Ask the students what they know about
pirates? Who is in charge of the pirate ship? Well today
we are going to pretend to be pirates out on the ocean!
Learnable Piece: Talk about the importance of being
physically active and following directions. Why do we
have to follow directions in school?

Presentation of New Material/Directions: Explain that


this is a game similar to Simon Says, except the
students are pirates and I am the captain. I will call out
specific sea creatures, and the students will have to get
into a specific position as quickly as possible. If they are
the last one left, they are out, and must to 10 jumping
jacks before they are back in.
Transition: We will go over each of the creatures and

Activity: I will have the students spread out across the

Possible Modifications: I can add or subtract certain


movements/creatures if the activity is too hard/ too
difficult. For older students, the students that are out
can stay out and we can find a winner to be the captain
the next round.
