Beliefs,

Principles, and
Practices

Kathryn Hall

Beliefs
I believe the effective teacher will
capitalize on all of the students
individual talents, interest, and
abilities.
These unique factors will allow the
classroom to flourish and help in the
development of student bonding.
It is the teachers job to build these
bonds with the students and provide
them with the education appropriate
for them individually.

Principles
The effective teacher
needs to administer
assessments, learning
objectives, and
interactive activities
throughout the
curriculum.
Student learning is
enhanced when these
factors relate with one
another.

Practices
I believe the effective teacher should facilitate
classroom discussion frequently throughout the
class period.
Students need to have opportunities to learn
from each other and develop the necessary
speaking skills, vocabulary, sentence structure,
etc. This is especially important for our ELLs.
Generating classroom discussion allows the
teacher to formally assess whether the students
are grasping the new content and concepts
introduced.
