Dear Mr. Fisher,
As a high school student, I would like to apply for the Data Inquiry Assistant position. As
soon I was informed by a friend, I noticed that my skills perfectly match the position and
immediately proceeded to take it.
The skills I have acquired throughout my education by taking part in additional activities and
taking challenges have helped me achieve highly developed organizational abilities and
diligence. My proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel, which I have
acquired through one year of ICDL training and practice, and my excellence in Mathematics
have given me an outstanding understanding of statistics and expertise in working with
statistical data. I am familiar with many governmental / non-governmental organizations
(through the study of Geography) and the ways to gather statistical data using these
intermediates or directly. Finally, the communicational abilities I have demonstrated through
working with several groups and taking part in extracurricular activities such as Robotics,
Otodea Tutoring, and the UBC Physics competitions are clearly an asset.
