I don't believe Rainsford killed General Zaroff, because the last line says "He had never
slept in a better bed, decided Rainsford." This doesn't give the reader much evidence to say that
Rainsford killed Zaroff. My theory is that the alcohol consumption made the Genral pass out
after talking to Tainsford, alleging Rainsford to sleep. In the morning I think that Rainsford was
able to retrieve a ship to help get him off the island. As for Zaroff I think that he too was taken
off the island and was sent to some country for trial because he murdered a lot of innocent men.
