VarioustermsAssociatedwithSphericalLens

SphericalLens:Itisthesegmentofasphere,anditrefracts
raysoflightequallyinallmeridians..
ConcaveLens:Aconcavelenscauseslighttospreadoutor
divergeinwhichthereflectingsurfacecurvesinward.
ConvexLens:Aconvexlensisalensthatiscurved
outward.Theendsarenarrowandthemiddleiswide.
Oftenitisreferredtoasaconverginglens.Lightpassing
throughaconvexlensisconvergedtoapoint.Thispoint
isalsocalledafocalpoint.AConvexLenscanproduce
eitherarealorvirtualimage.

OpticalCentre:Theopticalcentreisdefinedasthegeometriccentre
ofthecurvedlens.
PrincipalAxis:Theprincipalaxisofacurvedlensisdefinedasthe
imaginarylinepassingthroughitscentreandfocus..
Focus:Theprincipalfocusisdefinedasthepointontheprincipalaxis
wherethelightraystravelingparalleltotheprincipalaxisafter
refractionactuallymeet(foraconvexlens)orappeartomeet(fora
concavelens).
