Try Repairing The Windows 7 Installation 1. 1a. Insert the Windows 7 DVD or repair disk and restart your computer. Boot from the DVD, press a key if prompted. 1b. Or if you dont have disks press F8 instead repeatedly at boot and choose "Repair your computer" then go to step 4. 2. Choose your language and click Next. 3. Click Repair Your Computer and then select the operating system you want to repair. 4. Click on the Startup Repair link from list of recovery tools in System Recovery Options. If that doesn't fix it: 1. 1a. Insert the Windows 7 DVD or repair disk and restart your computer. Boot from the DVD, press a key if prompted. 1b. Or if you dont have disks press F8 instead repeatedly at boot and choose "Repair your computer" then go to step 4. 2. Choose your language and click Next. 3. Click Repair Your Computer and then select the operating system you want to repair. 4. Select Command Prompt and type the following commands (pressing Enter after each one): bootrec /fixMBR bootrec /fixBoot bootrec /rebuildBCD Note: there is a space before the / Create system repair disc 1. Open Backup and Restore by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, clicking System and Maintenance, and then clicking Backup and Restore. 2. In the left pane, click Create a system repair disc, and then follow the steps. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. To access the System Recovery Environment in Windows 7, simply boot your PC, just before the system loads the Windows operating system; hit the [F8] Function 8 key on your keyboard which will launch the Advanced Boot Options menu. There you will see a new option 'Repair Your Computer', select this option and hit 'Enter' on your keyboard. or if you have an installation disc: 1. Put the Windows 7 installation disc into the disc drive, and then start the computer. 2. Press a key when the message indicating "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD ". appears. 3. Select a language, a time, a currency, and a keyboard or another input method, and then click Next. 4. Click Repair your computer. 5. Click the operating system that you want to repair, and then click Next. 6. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click Command Prompt. 7. Type sfc /scannow, and then press ENTER.
