AUTOCRATIC MODEL OF

ORGANISATIONAL

What is O.B Model?
• Developed to provide framework about
how people will be treated in an
organization.
• Developed on the basis of management’s
assumptions about people.
• According to “Davis”: There are four O.B
models 1) Autocratic ,2) Custodial , 3)
Supportive ,4) Collegial .

Advantages of Autocratic
Model
• Accomplishment of Performance;
• Create the environment to work frequently;
• Help to remove avoidance of responsibility
Disadvantages of Autocratic
Model
• One-Way Communication;
• Command over employee through
punishment,threats e.t.c.;
• Output very much affected.
Example of Autocratic Model
• Mostly found in small level of Organization
• In small Cottage Industries, like in
Restaurants, Hotels, Matches factory e.t.c
• In some non-government(privatised)
company.
Conclusion
• This Traditional Model, being dominating
in nature is not able to enhance the
performance of the Employee’s in the
Organization
• This Model don’t provide any opportunities
to employee to fulfill their own desires.
Thus we can’t say that this
Model is totally good & suitable at various
levels of an Organization.
