Name of Activity: Sponge Printing with water

Originating Idea
While playing in water outside, one of the Teachers placed their hand in the water then on the ground
making a water imprint. The children imitated what the teacher did.

Materials:
Sponges
water
four small bowls
stroller
Appropriate Age group: Infant
Beginning of Activity
Gather children outside. Have water bowls and sponges prepped
Middle of Activity
Early:
Have sponges already placed in water
Middle:
Children will explore materials with hands and mouth mostly.
Later: Children may dip sponge back into water
End of Activity
Clean up sponges and bowls to go back inside.
Follow-up Ideas
1. make sponges and water and everyday outside choice.
2. Cut sponges into shapes and let children paint with them.
3. Freeze sponges and use a teether
