NAME OF ACTIVITY: Nature Collage Age Group: Pre-school

Originating Idea: Seasons / Fall

Materials Needed: Construction paper, glue, items collected from Nature Walk, marker

Curriculum Content: Arts and Sciences; Making models out of clay, blocks and other materials.

Beginning: During large group, teacher tells children that we will explore our items we found on nature walk and make a collage with them.

Middle: Children look at and explore items in their bag from nature walk.

Extensions (Modifiers): Teacher adds extra items that were collected from the walk for the children to explore. Teacher also asks open ended questions about what the children are exploring. End: Children use materials to create their collage.

Follow-up Ideas: Discuss what other things can be found outside in nature, i.e. farming.
