In an endeavour to elevate our cultural heritage, while scouting history
and by taking an active role in the local proceedings, our Organization
has decided to publish in partnership with the Commission of Corot
Expression this particular handout, transfusing it utilitarian as it aims at
a rst acquaintance of the visitor with the historical physiognomy of our
town and in particular with the customary rituals of the Easter holidays.
While traveling through the past of Corfu, one can palpate the feats of
a timeless expression that invigorate the feeling of continuation and
duration through the line of many years - of a tradition that constitutes
a signal of a multitude of meanings. The perennial history of our locale is
constantly present through the immeasurable tokens of art and culture
compounding an unbreakable unity of a well hinged and balanced entirety.
All these individual cultural characteristics constitute the legacy that we
ought to ferry and bequeath to the generations yet to come, in order for
the forthcoming to commune it on their own turn. And also to designate it
trough a resistive eort, by leveraging the favorable serendipities as well
as the local potential with our insight activated and oriented towards this
treasured value.

In Corfu, a World Cultural Heritage Monument of
