This document discusses radio documentaries and how they relate to fan culture and new forms of participatory engagement. It includes two short quotes from listeners of a radio documentary about David Bowie in New Zealand who express their enjoyment and memories of first hearing the documentary and story many years ago. The quotes indicate how radio documentaries can engage listeners and fans even long after their initial broadcast.

“I look forward to hearing the Downunder documentary. I heard your Waiata one and thought it was very well made and just fascinating to hear about, especially as I was a little 7 year old who lived up the road from the Marae he visited in Porirua. I ran down to have a look at this Bowie guy that everyone was going on about.”
Thanks again. Kristi
