KUMCIO 2009 Poinsettia Sale Instructions

1. Here is the link for the Google document complete with a list of hospital departments. If

2. I need everyone to sign up for 5 departments. It sounds like a lot, but there are over 200
departments that we need to reach. One flyer and one order form will go to each
department that you sign up for.
 
3. For each department, you will go to the front desk/department head and tell them to put
up the flyer and order form. You will need to give them specific instructions about the
order form. I have given a sample of what to say at the bottom of this paper.
 
4. The deadline for all orders is by November 26th. However, I will need all paper order
forms back by Monday November 23rd so that I will have time to turn them into the
company before Thanksgiving. You will be responsible for checking back with the
departments you delivered to and getting any paper order forms back to me by that date.
I will send out reminders for this.
 
5. Please try to deliver the flyers by the end of this week or early next week!! We have
exactly only 3 weeks to pull all of this off, so the sooner you get the flyers out, the sooner
we can start taking orders. : )
 
6. If you were NOT at the meeting today please stop by the office of student engagement
for the flyers and order forms. Just ask the person at the front desk, I will be leaving some
extras there for you to pick up.

7. We also encourage you to sell outside of the hospital departments and to friends and
family. If you will need more flyers/order forms for this, please email me and I will get
more printed for you.
 
Sample speech for department head:
 
Hello, my name is ____________ and I am with the organization KUMC International Outreach.
We are selling poinsettias as a fundraiser to support a medical mission trip to Belize this
March. Could you please post this flyer and order form up together somewhere in your
department? Then point to the website on the flyer and say, here is the website people can
go to online to order the plants, but you can make photocopies of this order form if you think
people would rather purchase a plant that way. Thank you for your help in supporting us!!
