Congruent Segments:________________________________________________________
For instance, let’s say that you measure the lengths of two pencils and find that they have the same
length…we would call them congruent segments.
Congruent segments can have different orientations, overlap, intersect, and even be in
different planes.
Congruence refers only to length; it does not refer to orientation.
To indicate segments are congruent, we use short tick marks.
