Different lives (Comparatives and Superlatives)

Date: September 29th , 2010 Level: 8th grade A Time: 90 minutes

Skill: listening, reading, speaking, writing

Expected Outcomes: Student will identify adjectives, comparatives and superlatives in a


listening. They will receive information about the next evaluated project.

Introduction Students greet the teacher; look at the date and the objectives of the class
5’ written by the teacher on the whiteboard. Students recall what they have
studied the previous class.

Core of the class Student will check the homework related to superlatives, given for the
Pre-stage 10’ teacher the previous class and also (Page 85).

Students will listen 6 people talking about the “The Best place to live” in
While-stage their home country.
5’ PRE LISTENING: They will try to guess what the people are going to
talk about, (Students will know just the title of the listening. “the best
place to live”)
WHILE LISTENING: Students are asked to take notes of all the
adjectives, comparatives and superlatives forms the first time they listen.
25’ The second time they listen, they will check their notes with the
transcript. Students’ answers are check by the teacher in the white
board.
POST LISTENING: Students are asked to say aloud why Are their
8’ hometowns the best places to live.
Post-stage
BROCHURE PROJECT INSTRUCTIONS

Students will receive the instruction to the next class individual project
15’ in which they will create their own brochure. They will follow the
teacher instructions. Some of them are: they will have to include at
least 2 adjectives, 2 comparative and 2 superlatives forms in their
brochure.
Students have time to organize their ideas and take notes about their own
Closing 20 festival project. The teacher will leave in their classroom one example
of the project for the students to check.

2’ Students say goodbye to the teachers.
