NOVEMBER CALENDAR:
BOOK FAIR - will run from November 8th-11th. Parents will be able to purchase books after
8th-11th
school until 3:00 or during the evenings of Parent Teacher Conferences.

11th VETERAN’S DAY ASSEMBLY at 9:30 a.m. presented by the VFW.

PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES - Our goal is to conference with parents or guardians

concerning all students. Please mark your calendars and plan now to attend! Conferences will be
held on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, Nov. 9 and 10, from 3:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m. Conferences
are held on a first come basis (unless your child's teacher has scheduled an appointment time with
you). Please contact your student’s teacher if you are unable to attend during the conference times
to schedule an appointment for a different date.

Please note that school will be in session on both days as usual.
9th and
School will not be held on Friday (Nov. 12) due to Parent Teacher Conferences.
10th
(FYI-Star Valley Middle School teachers will be holding conferences in the Thayne
Elementary gym on November 9, 4:30-7:00 pm, to accommodate parents in lower valley.)

Lincoln   County   Public   Health   will   hold   a   varicella   (chickenpox)   immunization   clinic   at  
Thayne  Elementary  during  Parent  Teacher  Conferences,  November  9  and  10,  from  3:00-­
7:00  p.m.    The  vaccine  is  free  of  charge.      Public  Health  can  be  reached  at  885-­9598  if  you  
have  questions  about  the  vaccine.  
 
NO SCHOOL (Friday) due to Parent Teacher Conferences held on Tuesday and Wednesday

Cookies and Conferring

Would you like to learn ways to help your children become better writers at home? Would
you like to hear how you could help during writing time in your child’s class? If so, please
come to Thayne Elementary’s library at 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday, November 16th for a cookie
and a thirty-minute presentation on conferring with students about their writing.
We will discuss how to:
16th -Listen to a child talk about his/her writing.
-Give compliments on what the writer is trying to do.
-Teach one thing that will help the writer the most.
-Build accountability and stamina in your child’s writing.

23rd SECOND GRADE PERFORMANCE DRESS REHEARSAL at 12:15 in the gym.

MORNING WITH MOM from 7:00-7:50 a.m. Thayne Elementary students and their moms are
invited to enjoy breakfast together before school starts - sponsored by the PTO.

SECOND GRADE PERFORMANCE - The Second Grade students will be presenting a

24th Thanksgiving Program for their parents on November 25th at 9:30 a.m. in the Thayne Elementary
gym.

THANKSGIVING EARLY RELEASE - Students will be released early on Wednesday,

November 24, for the Thanksgiving holiday. First buses will leave at 10:45 a.m. and second buses
will leave about 11:00 a.m.

THANKSGIVING HOLIDAY - We hope that everyone will have a safe and happy holiday!
25th-26th
School resumes on Monday, Nov. 30.

NELLIE T. ROSS' BIRTHDAY – Wyoming Governor. She was the first woman governor in the
29th history of the United States. Later she served as director of the US Mint. She died at the age of 101.
