1. The purpose of this decision tool is to enable a process of identifying key areas of knowledge gathering, communication, and points of

RECORDING TEMPLATE – SCENARIO C

ROLE: I ISSUE/OCCURRENCE: SEXTING (Student to Teacher)

A student develops a crush on a teacher and has been communicating by text after school hours. The student’s parents
regularly check the cell phone bill to make sure that the students is not “going over the minutes” in their cell phone plan but fail
to recognize the teachers cell number or the fact that the students is texting after midnight on school nights. The text messages
take on an increasingly sexual tone and the student thinks there is nothing wrong with sending text messages of this manner as
they are “not really doing anything” in real life. A friend of the student reveals to you that they are aware that this texting
relationship is happening and shows you the texts.

 What should you do? Who should be involved? How can this situation be handled? (List options)
 What implications are there in the school and/or community? What could have been done to prevent this?
