DRAMA REFLECTION

WEEK 13 - 31.12.2010 Gökhan ALTUNTAŞ – 301

This week, we have seen some interesting but useful drama activities.
Conducting the topic with a simple game was a magnificent idea. It will enhance
student’s interest to lesson. Furtermore, it can also raise curiosity among
students and this will absolutely facilitate the teacher’s job. On the other hand, I
have compherended how voice is vitally significant in teaching.

On the other hand, using a discussion as a drama activity can improve

students speaking abilities. Nevertheless, it may not suitable for all types of
learners. While this drama activity is being practised, students must have
sufficent time on the stage and teacher has to know how to handle the naughty
students who misuse the lesson. So, we can say that it has both advantages and
disadvantages.I have also appreciated time management and smooth transitions.
What makes me so happy that all of the performers were quite eager to teach.
Undoubedly, it has a positive effect on learners and my friends did it in a
wonderful way.

As a final point, I believe I can enrich my strategies. I may use video,

pandomime in my teaching.They are a good way of attracting student’s attention
to the lesson.
