(ORGANIZING THE SPEECH) INTRODUCTION • Your first job in the introduction is to get attention and interest of the audience. • You can do this by: – Posing a question – Telling a story – Making a startling statement – Opening with the quotation • The purpose of all these method is to create a dramatic, colorful opening that will make your audience want to hear more. BODY • After getting the audience attention and revealing your topic, you are ready to move into the body of your speech. • In some speech, the body seems to organize itself. Etc, – You have been assigned to tell a story about the significant experience in your life, you will relate the event chronologically. BODY • A better ways of structuring your point is to discuss three of the main aspect, which is called the topical method of organization. • It divides the speech topic into its: – Natural – Logical – Conventional parts CONCLUSION • When you finish discussing your final point, you will be ready to move into your conclusion • You need to accomplish two task in this part of the speech which is: – Let the audience know you are about to finish – Reinforce your major theme CONCLUSION • If possible, end your speech, with a remarkable, clever or thought-provoking idea and notes. • Lastly, bear in mind to make the final lines with a dramatic close.
