Phrasal verbs – don’t be scared!

 Phrasal verbs are IDIOMS – short, colloquial expressions that combine a verb
and a preposition to give new life to the verb.
 They fall into two categories – LITERAL & IDIOMATIC. The former is easy to
interpret but the latter is not, as the combination of verb & particle is in no way
related to the corresponding meaning.
 Both categories, however, commonly appear in one of three forms (make –up).
