Project ‘Samridhi’

Project title

To allocate Rs 10 crore for providing the sustainable livlihood for the poor scheduled tribal population of
Mandavi taluka for finanacial year benefits/assistance per family are limitedwith an upper cap of Rs
30000 for all project implemented under PPP model.

Population of Taluka

Total no of Villages = 149

Total population = 1,85,911

No of families(Scheduled BPL tribal population) = 28,160

Actitvities to be undertaken

For livlihood generation of the tribal people especially the schedule tribe/ BPL poulation the following
activities to be done

Promoter –Benficiary contribution Ratio = 85:15

For Agriculture activity promotinf NTFM(non timber farm produce) such as medical herbs, mushrooms,
fuelwood, oils etc as these people are livinf in tribal ares so these are the best activity to be carried out
and the farmers should be provide

Average landhlding in tribal area =1.74 hectares(I hectare= 2.47 acres approx.)

An acre of forest contains nearly 200 trees , so in hectare it will be around 850 trees.

So total cost of trees Rs 50/sapling

So in averge cost of per hectare Rs42500

Average village has hectares of land so 149*42500* hectare=

Total cost of plantation , training

Better seed /plants, training for carrying out these activities, vermicompost.

Encouraging farmers to produce forest produce along with agriculture activities like WADI project of
nabard by providing help to grow simultaneously like mango, amla or mushroom or may be forest trees
like sheesham etc.

Solar power projects developing entrprenaurship like TERI model but to link it with the SHG in each
village to carry out distribution maintenance work of keeping/distributing solar lanterns.

Cost of each lantern including charging station= Rs1500 so total cost will be Rs 42240000
Education

As population is 28000 so nearly 50% population is school going/young and average one family
comprises of 5 members with two school gong children and one in anganbari.

So total school going children are 10000 approx

Anganbari going children is close to 4000

Average cost of single school gong child is (including community building, books, teachers, training, mid
day meal etc) = 3000

Total cost of school going children=30000000(3 crore)

Average cost of Anganbari child (including building, staff, training etc) = 1000

Total cost of Anganbari = 4000000 lacs

Total education cost 3.4 core
