    Question 1

    It is Teacher’s Day and as the Head Prefect, you have been asked to give a speech at the
    school assembly. Based on all the notes below, write out your speech.
    • thank teachers for what they have done
    • praise teachers for their dedication
    • give some words of your own
    • announce the programme

    when writing the speech you should remember :


    • to include an opening address
    • to provide the body of speech
    • to include the closing lines
    • to provide two relevant details/examples for each of the four points

    SECTION B : Continuous Writing

    You are advised to spend about one hour on this section.

    Question 2
    Write a composition of about 350 words on one of the following topics:

    a. A memorable holiday..
    b. If you have a choice of attending school in a big city or a small town, which
    would you choose?
    c. Write a story ending with:“This is an embarrassing moment I will not be able to
    forget!”
    d. Friends.
    e. “ My heart was beating very fast when I approached the door…..”. Continue the
    story.
