How I

addressed the
audience
What the audience
want?
• Tension within the opening sequence
•Action within the opening sequence
•A villain
•A vulnerable female character
•Music that matches the action in the scene
Through researching our target audience, we know that the
audience likes a villain to be established within the opening
sequence. In our productions case we have two.

This is our first villain that is

introduced to audience, the
female victim manages to over
turn him. This makes the
audience believe that the victim
is going to escape.

This is a screen grab on the

second antagonist in the
film. This a twist for the
audience as they are not
expecting there to be
another villain. By ensuring
there is a clear villain within
the film, we have met our
audiences demands.

Music
•After researching the internet for websites to get out music from
the www.royaltyfreemusic.co.uk

•This is a website where you can download free music tracks,

there is a wide variety of music genres to choose from. There are
also keywords that can help you find the right music, some of the
keywords we used to find the right track was ‘suspense’ and
‘tension’. This helped us attract out target audience.

•We decided to use two tracks, one which built up the suspense
of the character realising she has been kidnapped and her
attacking the villain.

•After attacking him, another track starts to play, this is more

•Both these tracks were a form of parallel sound
As the opening sequence is
only two minutes long we
included as much action as
possible to attract the
audience attention.

The end of the opening

sequence consists of the

to attract the audience into

film.
These are several screen grabs
which represent the main
female character ‘Rose’. The
pictures represent her as being
vulnerable, in every shot she is
either trying to escape or in a
bad situation. This is targeting
out audience as in the audience
research, every person wanted
to see a vulnerable female
character.
