Gerundios e infinitivos
Tanto gerundios como infinitivos pueden ser sujeto de
una oración.

Fumar es malo para tu salud.

- Hablar chino es muy dificil
Tanto los gerundios como los infinitivos pueden ser
objeto de un verbo.

A Mary le gusta correr por la tarde.
Sin embargo, solo los gerundios pueden ser objeto de
una preposición

Algunos verbos siempre van seguidos por gerundios:

van seguidos de infinitivo y gerundio

Otros verbos muestran diferencias de significado
dependiendo de si van seguidos de infinitivo o
gerundio
Remember, forget, stop
-I remembered to water the plants this morning
-I remember watering the plants in the morning
En la primera frase primero me acordé y luego regué
las plantas, mientras que en la segunda primero las
regué y ahora recuerdo cómo las regaba.
-I forgot to call you.
-I forgot calling you.
En la primera se me olvidó llamarte, no te llamé.
En la segunda si te llamé, pero luego se me olvidó el
hecho de que te había llamado.
-I stopped smoking.
-I stopped to smoke.
En la primera se habla de una acción concreta que ya
estaba realizando en el pasado, esta acción ya está
completada, mientras que en la segunda decimos que
dejamos de hacer algo para fumar, la acción no está
completa si no que será una acción futura.
