PROFFESSIONAL IN FIELD

verall Gregg and I decided that since our interest are both
similar, we agreed on interviewing the same person.
This individual works for CBS network. His name is
Eric Cruz and he is the Video editor for the CBS network
for 4 years come November.
PROFESSIONAL IN FIELD

e asked Eric a series of questions such as What are your duties

and or Responsibilities?

e replied- “I am a Video Editor and I am responsible for putting

together packages, sports highlights, various video recaps for
the local news.”
PROFESSIONAL IN FIELD

ur next question was How did you get started?

ric wrote back saying “ I graduated with a degree in Mass Communication

and was lucky enough to have an aunt who worked for them, she trained
me, got me and interview.”

hen he noted, its all about who you know and start networking now.
PROFESSIONAL IN FIELD

e asked him What advice would make us more attractive to

employers? Such as skill wise, portfolio, or internships

ric replied “Pursue everything with confidence, apply, follow up, and
be persistent when going through the process. Try your best to make
sure they remember who you are, do that with your attitude and
quality of work.”
PROFESSIONAL IN FIELD

or our last question we asked him how are the people that you work
with? And are you happy with this job?

e replied, “Well here’s the deal with this question, in this business you have
to learn how to handle pressure. Deadlines are a lot more serious when your
work gets shown on TV. So you have to know how to deal with crazy
personalities.”
PROFESSIONAL IN FIELD

e continued…”My particular crew is

awesome, but to be honest I’ve seen and
worked with some serious nut jobs.”
