• TESTS
• TRX power test
• Tests transmitter output power and SWR of whole
antenna line
• Test is done after commissioning and before integration
• Connect power meter between DVDA and internal feeder
• Power should be 41 dBm ± 1.5 dBm if configuration
is 2:1, two TRX:s to same antenna with WCDA
• Power should be 44.5 dBm ± 1.5 dBm if configuration
is one TRX:s to one antenna without WCDA
• SWR should be always less than 1.3

• After commissioning with BTS manager
disconnect transmission cables from
FXC card
• Connect power meter
• Give use current command from BTS
SW menu
• Wait until BCF is in supervisory state
and TRXs are in configuring state

• Select send BCCH Carrier from BTS
manager tests menu
• Select TX PWR to 0, = maximum
• Select correct ARFN and press start
• Measure power and SWR
• Press stop and and measure next

• Check cabling if problems with

• After testing all TRX:s install all
cables
back to correct positions
• Remember tighten cable connectors

• TESTS
• Handovers between sectors
• Purpose of this test is verify that call can
be handed over between different sectors
in same BTS site
• This test is possible after it is possible
make calls in every sector
• Make call and walk around BTS site
• Check from Field Test display 1 that call
is
handed over from sector 1 to 2
• Repeat this between sectors 1-3, 2-1, 2-3
3-1 and 3-2

• Alarm test
• During this test is tested that alarms generated by BTS and Site Support
are
reported properly to NMS
• Site Support AC mains break down alarm
• Switch OFF AC to Site Support cabinet
• Check AC mains break down alarm is seen on BTS manager and call to NMS and verify that alarm is
also seen there
• Switch AC ON and check alarm is cleared

• Bts Cabinet door switch alarm


• Check BTS cabinet door open is seen in NMS when cabinet door is open

• FINISHING
• CHEKINGS
• Before leaving site chek:
• BTS master clock dac word is between 1500 -2500, if not measure 13 MHz clock. Dac
word is checked with BTS manager. 13 MHz clock is measured from connector on BOIA
unit
• All cabinets, units and cables installed properly
• All cable connectors in BTS cabinet are thighten and cable labels are installed
• All Unit thumb screws are thighten
• All fans including cabinet fans in door are working
• No alarms on NMS
• All faults and missing items are reported
• Site Folder is filled
