Following are the product and services which are provided by the gill departmental store:-

In gill dept.store on the left side of the entering point there is a big showcase .In which there
are HUL & P&G products lying . Gill departmental store provide their best eye level catching
shelves to these products due to their high demand in the market.Most of the customer
attract towards these HUL & P&G products.Sale of these products is very high and when the
stock of these product is replenished .Then the stock is filled by the dealer of HUL & P&G of
the chandigarh region.

On the last corner of the store there are 3 refrigerator,one refrigerator provided by the coca-
cola company ,one refrigerator by the pepsi company ,one is provided by mother dairy
company to store the cold products like ice-cream,butter,chocolates,lassi,curd,cheese,other
milk products.

If there is any problem occur in these refrigerator then this problem is solved by the worker of
these companies.

Stock in these refrigerator is filled by the companies dealer when the stock is very low.

They also sell the verka products such as:milk,curd,lassi.Gill departmental store get verka
product directly from the wholesaler of the chadigarh region who to their palce daily and
provide their milk products to them.

On the front of the store there are racks of BINGO & LAYS copmanies.
Services
Gill dept.store mainly provide the three services and these are:-

 Free home delivery: They provide the free home delivery to their customer
within the 5sq.km area in their region.They provide this service in a very good time
without taking any extra time .They don’t want to lose any customer due to their
bad home delivery service.

 On call delivery:They also provide their service on call to their customer .Most
of these call is done by their loyal customer & they also sell their products on
credit to their loyal customer who regularly comes to their store for purchasing the
products.

 Fast Food: This store is located in that market where there are so many offices.
This is the single store in that market.People from these store comes to this store
in their free time or lunch time to eat fast food or cold drinks.In the evening time
mostly children are comes in this store for fast food.Mr.Surjit Singh Gill claims
that their demand for fast food is much higher than their other products.In the fast
food they sell many type of products such as :burger,rools,sandwich,etc.If any
customer wants to pack these fast food they provide this service.

 Drinking water :- Gill departmental store also provide the service of drinking
water.They provide the big bottles of water to their customer .Their customer
mainly inculde the offices .
Revenues and Expenses
 Monthly sales:7-8 lakh.
 Monthly expenses:60000-70000.
 Monthly profit:2-3lakh.

In the monthly expenses it include their 7 workers salary, transport exp, electricity exp,water
exp etc.

Gill dept is mainly deals in two type of business:-

 Retail business
 Wholesale business

In the retail business they get the 10-15% margin on fmcg products.In this store they sell mostly
the daily use goods such as soaps,shampoo,hair oil,etc.

In the wholesale business they sell the products like floor,rice,sugar,pulses and drinking water
etc.They sell these products to the local small scale retailer.

For the wholesale business they have the two tampoo to provide their goods to the customer.

This is their main source of revenues of Gill departmental store.Mr.Surjit Singh Gill owner of the
gill departmantel store does not have any computerized billing system so the profit is in the
rounded figures.

The other main source of their revnues is rent.Mr.Gill is owner of the whole buliding where he
have his store. Ground floor is occuiped by mr.gill himself and other two floor he alloted on rent
from where he get the other source of revnue i.e is rent.

Their mainly profit comes from the wholesale business.They are in wholesale from the last 15
year.when they are in the SOHANA village they start the wholesale business by selling goods
like floor,rice,sugar,pulses etc.After the success of this business then they also comes in the
retail business.On the wholesale goods they get less margin compare to retail goods but they
are avabile to sell in very good quantity and get the huge profit from selling these products to
local retailer.

They get the revenue by selling the local drinking water.Which is provided to them by
wholeseller.This drinking water provided in the big bottle.
Sale and demand
 Sale of the products is almost same in a year.Their is slightly change In the demand for
their goods due to seasonal changes.

 During the festival seasons they install the stalls for the sweets.During these seasons
demand for sweet is very high and there is high chance to get good profit also.

 Demand for their fast food is very high compare to other products.Due to their good
location and so many offices .In the lunch breaks or in the evening time sale for the fast
is very high.Because at that time people from offices or children comes to this store to
eat the fast food.

 They have more than 45% loyal customer who done the regular purchase from their
store.

 Their stock is replenished in the every week. Stock of HUL products and P&G products is
filled dealer of these companies .Stock for other product is filled by themselves.Stock
for the product like floor,rice etc they directly purchase from the manufacture.

 They have a very good supply chain.whenever their local small scale retailer call them
to provide their wholesale goods they provide these goods on that day .they don’t want
to lose their any retailer because they are the person who provise him the maximum
profit.

 Demand for verka milk products is also high.They get these product directly from the
wholeseller on the demand of the verka product.If any verka product they cant sell
within the useable date.Then company will get back these products from the Gill
departmental store.

 Sale of the fmcg goods is also high.when the stock is near to replanished then Mr.Gill
directly purchase these goods from the wholeseller on good margin.
