7th Annual Balinese Dinner East of Suez Monday, August 29th 6:30pm

Over our 16 years of traveling to Bali, Indonesia we have fallen in love with this gift of nature and gentle people. Over the years we have tried our best to give back to this island that has given us so much. In 2004, after the bombings however we noticed a more desperate need among the Balinese and from this the Bali Education Fund was established. This commitment started with 11 high school students, but through the generosity of our community, has grown to over 40 high school and grade school students, who might not otherwise get through high school graduation because of financial need. This has made a tremendous impact on the lives of these students, their families and the community. Our fund-raising dinners at East of Suez have been a huge success. Again this year, Liz and her wonderful staff at East of Suez have offered us the opportunity to hold our dinner there. Because of their generosity 100% of all the proceeds are given to the recipients of the fund, on a need basis. This past year we helped two students attend University, the first in their families! Next year we have two more wanting to attend. All four need laptops so if your are upgrading please consider donating your old one to one of these worthy students. We will bring them over with us and have them upgraded while there. We are also continuing our four year effort to match funds to build a covered building within the school property which will serve the school as well as the community. Come enjoy traditional Balinese fare, tamed to the western palate from appetizers to dessert. Iced tea will be provided or BYOB. See pictures of the children, listen to some Balinese Music, win a door prize, and meet some neighbors. Our suggested donation is $45. per plate. To sponsor a high school student for one year is $300. To sponsor a grade school student is $150. Please RSVP by August 23rd. Bring some friends and reserve a table.
