What I love most in hari raya

Hari Raya Aidilfitri, also known as Hari Raya Puasa, is the most meaningful and significant celebration for Muslims to mark the end of Ramadhan or the fasting month. It is also the day most awaited by all muslims throughout the world including myself. It is a special day where i get to spend time together with my whole family members. In other words, it can be called as a yearly family reunion. Believe it or not, other than Hari Raya, it is very hard for my whole family to gather. This is because my siblings work or study at different places and have their own responsibilities. So it is almost impossible for my eight siblings go back to our hometown at the same time. When Hari Raya arrives, my house will be filled with joy. Just imagine having 18 people under one roof. During the night of Hari Raya, we usually make a barbeque while sitting together and sharing our experiences or stories of life. Besides that, my niece and nephews will be enjoying their time playing with fire crackers. Of course I would join in as usuall. My mom and sisters will be busy cooking Hari Raya meals. Then, in the morning we go to the mosque together to perform solat Hari Raya Aidilfitri. After solat, we forgive each other for any mistakes done. Then we take family pictures. Usually we have a theme colour for our clothes. It makes the picture more unique and exhibits the close bonding that we have. After that, it is time to eat. There will be lots of kampung cuisines available such as ketupat daun palas, rendang, satay and laksa perlis. I will eat until my stomach is full. In the afternoon, we will go and visit our ancestors graves. Then only, we start visiting our family and friends. This makes the celebration more meaningful. That is also the beauty of Aidilfitri celebration. However, deep in my heart, I would always be grateful to have the oppurtunitty to spend and cherish the precious time with my family members every year. In short, all of us enjoy every moment of celebration, our memorable Aidilfitri this year. This is the thing I love most about Hari Raya.
