(pp 46-61) Preparing for your Opportunity

This weeks Opportunity will focus on the French and Indian War. The following questions are the questions you will see in class next week. You will be required to write a paragraph essay on the French and Indian war. It must be written in essay form linking sentences and ideas no short answers. In your essay you must answer at least four these questions. If you do choose to do the illustration, you must accompany your illustration with an answer to at least one other question in a short paragraph. (As youre reading this section know that George Washington could not speak French!) Sometimes historians refer to the French and Indian War as the First World War. Why do you think that is? What factors led up to the French and Indian War? What were the keys to English victory? Why was it important to the development of America? How did the end of the war affect the relationship between colonists and England? The performance and attitudes of the British soldiers made an impression on the colonial citizens. Be able to tell more about this. How did the end of the French and Indian War change the relationship of England and her colonies? Be able to locate/illustrate some of the key events of the French and Indian War on a map which you draw. Include some short notes with details. (At least 3 events.)
