Essay Writing Contest

I. MECHANICS 1. Nursing students from all year levels are qualified to join. 2. The essay contest is divided into two: Filipino and English category. Only (2) participants for EACH of the said category are allowed to join. 3. The contest will be held on August ___, 2011 at ______. The location will be announced beforehand. 4. All participants must be present ten minutes before the event. Otherwise, s/he will automatically be disqualified. 5. All participants should bring proper identification materials (i.e. school ID and COR). 6. The topic shall be given during the actual competition. 7. The competition starts as soon as the specific topic is given. Each participant will be given one (1) hour to finish the essay. All participants are to be informed (15) minutes prior to the end of the competition to wrap up their essay. 8. All essays shall be written on a short bondpaper and shall consist of at least 500 words. 9. Top three essays will be chosen. Winners will be awarded during the culminating exercises of the Nursing Week. 10. All essays will automatically become official property of the Prime Mover. The winning entry is to be published at the Prime Mover Publication on October. II. CRITERIA 1. Entries will be judged according to the following criteria: 2.1 Substance and originality: 50% 2.2 Writing style, structure and organization: 50%

III. Miscellaneous The sponsoring organization reserves the right to make any revision of these rules. Proper notification to concerned parties however shall be made in such a case.
