    Design a time line for the following pieces of information about Christopher Columbus.

    We have worked on time lines before, so students should be able to design this using a blank sheet of paper. The time line should be long enough to contain all of the information and be marked in intervals that make sense. There are five pieces of information that need to be included:

    Christopher Columbus is born in 1451. In 1492, the king and queen of Spain give Christopher money for his trip to Asia On August 3, 1492, Christopher and this three ships sail west from Spain On October 12, 1492, Christopher reaches the Bahamas Christopher Columbus dies in Spain on May 20, 1506

    On the bottom of the time line students should write and answer the following questions:

    How old was Christopher Columbus when he set sail? How old was Christopher Columbus when he died? How long did it take for Christopher Columbus to reach the Bahamas from the time he left Spain?

    The time line assignment will be worth 10 points.
