KRITERIA DAN STANDARD BAGI KURSUS PENGAJIAN DALAM BIDANG HOSPITALITI, PELANCONGAN DAN SENI KULINARI CRITERIA AND STANDARDS FOR COURSES OF STUDY IN THE FIELD OF HOSPITALITY, TOURISM AND CULINARY ARTS PRAKATA Kriteria dan piawai yang dinyatakan dalam dokumen ini hanya merujuk kepada keperluan khusus kursus pengajian dalam bidang hospitaliti, pelancongan dan seni kulinari. Untuk maklumat lanjut berkaitan kriteria dan standard, sila rujuk kepada dokumen yang bertajuk Garis Panduan Kriteria dan Standard Kursus Pengajian IPTS yang disediakan oleh Lembaga Akreditasi Negara, edisi Jun 2002 dan juga Kod Amalan Jaminan Kualiti IPTA oleh Bahagian Jaminan Kualiti, Jabatan Pendidikan Tinggi, edisi Mei 2002. Keperluan khusus kursus pengajian dalam dokumen ini telah dibina oleh satu panel yang mewakili ahli akademik dan industri. Senarai ahli panel adalah seperti yang terdapat dalam Lampiran A. PREAMBLE The criteria and standards described in this document refer only to the specific requirements for courses of study in the field of hospitality, tourism and culinary arts. For further information on criteria and standards, please refer to the document entitled Guidelines for Criteria and Standard of Courses of Study offered by PHEIs prepared by the National Accreditation Board, June 2002 and also Quality Assurance of Public Universities in Malaysia: Code of Practice prepared by the Division of Quality Assurance, Department of Higher Education May 2002 edition. The specific requirements have been developed by a panel representing academia and industry. The members of the panel are as in Appendix A. This specific criteria may serve as guideline when formulating curriculum of hospitality, tourism and culinary arts courses of study. OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES Opportunities

Laluan pembelajaran dijelaskan dalam The learning pathways are as shown in Jadual 4. Table 4. KAEDAH PEMBELAJARAN PENGAJARAN- TEACHING-LEARNING METHODS

Kaedah pengendalian kursus pengajian merangkumi kuliah, kumpulan diskusi, pengajaran praktikal (makmal), projek, seminar, tutorial, kerja lapangan, kelas penyelesaian masalah atau pembelajaran kendiri. Latihan industri merupakan bahagian penting kursus pengajian dan memberi peluang kepada pelajar memperoleh pengalaman industri dalam pelbagai sektor industri.

Methods of handling the courses include lectures, discussion groups, practical instruction (laboratories), project work, seminars, tutorials, field work / trips, problem solving classes or self-directed learning. Industrial placement is an integral part of the course and provides an opportunity for students to obtain industrial experience in various sectors of the industry.

PENILAIAN PELAJAR Proses penilaian pelajar hendaklah berdasarkan prestasi atau keupayaan, seperti portfolio, projek, pembentangan, demonstrasi, penilaian rakan sekursus, penilaian pelajar (peperiksaan akhir), refleksi peribadi dan disertasi (peringkat ijazah). KRITERIA DAN STANDARD BAGI KURSUS PENGAJIAN DALAM BIDANG SENI LUKIS DAN SENI REKA CRITERIA AND STANDARDS FOR COURSES OF STUDY IN THE FIELD OF ART AND DESIGN PRAKATA Kriteria dan standard yang dinyatakan dalam dokumen ini hanya merujuk kepada keperluan khusus kursus pengajian dalam bidang seni lukis dan seni reka. Untuk maklumat lanjut tentang kriteria dan standard, sila rujuk kepada dokumen yang bertajuk Garis Panduan Kriteria dan Standard Kursus Pengajian Yang Ditawarkan oleh IPTS yang disediakan oleh Lembaga Akreditasi Negara, edisi Jun 2002 dan juga Kod Amalan Jaminan Kualiti Universiti Awam di Malaysia yang disediakan oleh Bahagian Jaminan Kualiti, Jabatan Pendidikan Tinggi, edisi Mei 2002. Keperluan khusus kursus pengajian telah dibina oleh satu panel yang diwakili oleh ahli akademik dan wakil industri. Senarai ahli panel disertakan dalam Lampiran A. Kriteria spesifik ini boleh diguna pakai sebagai panduan dalam menggubal kurikulum kursus pengajian dalam bidang seni lukis dan seni reka. CABARAN PREAMBLE The criteria and standards described in this document pertain only to the specific requirements for courses of study in the field of art and design. For more information on criteria and standards, please refer to the document entitled Guidelines for Criteria and Standard of Courses of Study offered by PHEI prepared by the National Accreditation Board, June 2002 and also Quality Assurance of Public Universities in Malaysia: Code of Practice prepared by the Division of Quality Assurance, Department of Higher Education, May 2002 edition. The specific requirements have been developed by a panel representing academia and industry. The members of the panel are listed in Appendix A. The specific criteria may serve as guidelines when the curriculum of art and design courses of study is formulated. Memandangkan teknologi dan media berkembang secara berterusan, graduan seni lukis dan seni reka perlu dilengkapkan pelbagai pengetahuan dan kemahiran dalam bidang seni lukis dan seni reka untuk lebih cekap dalam tugasan mereka. Oleh itu, pendidikan seni lukis dan seni reka perlu memasukkan pelbagai aspek pengkhususan di samping menekankan ekspresi kemahiran seni reka dan berkomunikasi. Telah menjadi matlamat kursus pengajian ini untuk melengkapi graduan seni lukis dan seni reka dengan kemahiran kritikal, analitikal dan kreatif bagi menghadapi cabaran dunia yang pesat berubah. Amalan seni lukis dan seni reka dalam makna yang lebih luas turut memerlukan lulusan memaksimumkan potensi mereka dan membangunkan kekuatan individu sepenuhnya.

PANDUAN KRITERIA DAN STANDARD BAGI KURSUS PENGAJIAN DALAM BIDANG SENI PERSEMBAHAN GUIDELINES ON CRITERIA AND STANDARDS FOR COURSES OF STUDY IN THE PERFORMING ARTS PRAKATA Kriteria dan standard yang dinyatakan dalam dokumen ini hanya merujuk kepada keperluan khusus kursus pengajian dalam bidang seni persembahan. Bagi mendapatkan maklumat lanjut tentang kriteria dan standard, sila rujuk kepada dokumen yang bertajuk Garis Panduan Kriteria dan Standard Kursus Pengajian IPTS yang disediakan oleh Lembaga Akreditasi Negara, edisi Jun 2002 dan juga Kod Amalan Jaminan Kualiti IPTA di Malaysia yang disediakan oleh Bahagian Jaminan Kualiti, Jabatan Pendidikan Tinggi, edisi Mei 2002. Keperluan khusus kursus pengajian dalam dokumen ini telah dibina oleh satu panel yang diwakili oleh ahli akademik dan wakil industri. Senarai ahli panel disertakan dalam Lampiran A. CABARAN PREAMBLE The criteria and standards described in this document pertain only to the specific requirements for courses of study in the Performing Arts. For more information on criteria and standards, please refer to the document entitled Guidelines for Criteria and Standard of Courses of Study offered by PHEI prepared by the National Accreditation Board, June 2002 and also Quality Assurance of Public Universities in Malaysia: Code of Practice prepared by the Division of Quality Assurance, Department of Higher Education, May 2002 edition. A panel representing academia and industry has developed the specific requirements. The members of the panel are listed in Appendix A.

KRITERIA DAN STANDARD BAGI KURSUS PENGAJIAN DALAM BIDANG KOMUNIKASI DAN PENGAJIAN MEDIA CRITERIA AND STANDARDS FOR COURSES OF STUDY IN THE FIELD OF COMMUNICATION AND MEDIA STUDIES PRAKATA Kriteria dan standard yang dinyatakan dalam dokumen ini hanya merujuk kepada keperluan khusus kursus pengajian dalam bidang komunikasi dan pengajian media. Bagi mendapat maklumat lanjut tentang kriteria dan standard, sila rujuk kepada dokumen yang bertajuk Garis Panduan Kriteria dan Standard Kursus Pengajian IPTS yang disediakan oleh Lembaga Akreditasi Negara, edisi Jun 2002 dan juga Kod Amalan Jaminan Kualiti IPTA di Malaysia yang disediakan oleh Bahagian Jaminan Kualiti, Jabatan Pendidikan Tinggi, edisi Mei 2002. Keperluan khusus kursus pengajian dalam dokumen ini telah dibina oleh satu panel yang diwakili oleh ahli akademik dan wakil industri. Senarai ahli panel disertakan dalam Lampiran A. Kriteria spesifik ini boleh diguna pakai sebagai panduan dalam menggubal kurikulum kursus pengajian dalam bidang komunikasi dan pengajian media. CABARAN Peranan komunikasi dan kuasa media amat kritikal apabila ekonomi semakin didesak oleh teknologi. Bagi menghadapai cabaran sedemikian, pengajian komunikasi dan media perlu meneroka pemahaman tentang perubahan, menyebarkan maklumat PREAMBLE The criteria and standards described in this document pertain only to the specific requirements for courses of study in the communication and media studies. For more information on criteria and standards, please refer to the document entitled Guidelines for Criteria and Standard of Courses of Study offered by PHEI prepared by the National Accreditation Board, June 2002 and also Quality Assurance of Public Universities in Malaysia: Code of Practice prepared by the Division of Quality Assurance, Department of Higher Education, May 2002 edition. The specific requirements have been developed by a panel representing academia and industry. The members of the panel are listed in Appendix A.

The specific criteria may serve as guidelines when the curriculum of communication and media studies courses of study is formulated.

CHALLENGES The role of communication and the forces of media is critical as our economy becomes more technology driven. To meet the challenges, the communication and media studies should venture into the understanding of change, disseminate the right

The major challenge to our society is the ability to move fast in order to fully comprehend the electronic transmission of knowledge and adhere to never-ending continuous advancement of new technologies and media. Hence, the communication and media studies must incorporate the various aspects of specialization to better equip the graduates with critical, analytical, and creative skills for the fast changing world.
