a. Observe, represent, and state the sequence of numbers for a given skip counting pattern (forwards or backwards) including by 5s, 10s, or 100s using any starting point by 3s, 4s, or 25s using starting points that are multiples of 3, 4, and 25.

1. Show large collection of paper (110 pages) tell students you know there are 110 sheets. 2. Show pile of 20 pages (dont say how many) and tell students you want to know how many pages there are. Q: What can we do to make counting easier? (use groups, skip count, etc) 3. Tell students you want to use groups (what kind of groups can we use?). 4. Tell students you want to use groups of 5. Volunteers to make groups of 5 and class counts by 5s from 110 as each pile of paper is added. Q: Why did we count forward? When would we count back? 5. Draw a line on the board and have students skip count 110 130. 6. Do another number line by 10s

1. Distribute number lines (4 per student) and have them create their own number lines starting from various numbers and skip counting by 5s and 10s Choose from: 9, 0, 73, 16, 5, 24, 48, 162, 110 a. Choose any number and direction to start, and skip count by 5 or 10. b. Choose any number to start, skip count up by 5. c. Choose a number from the list, skip count up by 10 d. Choose a number from the list, skip count down by 5 2. Trade number lines with a partner and check them over. 3. Show all the number lines on hundreds charts (coloured paper matches each number line)
