Good morning to my English teacher, and my fellow friends.

Today I would talk on the topic that was given to me which is co-educational schools are better. I am strongly agreed with this statement. First of all, co- education or mixed-sex education is a system of education in which both men and women attend the same institution or classes. It is the opposite of single-sex education. There are many advantages and hardly any disadvantages in the co-educational system of education. Firstly, co-education is an economical system, because both boys and girls can study in same schools and they can be taught by the same staff. If boys and girls are taught together, there will not be any need for opening separate schools for boys and girls. The problem of shortage of trained teachers also can be solved with this system. Next, compared to a single-sex education school , co-education helps the boys and girls to understand each other well. They become more broad-minded and tolerant towards the opposite gender. They interact freely with one another, thereby overcoming hesitation and shyness. Therefore, co-education leads to a healthy and harmonious relationship between boys and girls. Beside that, a school with co-education system will help to create a sense of healthy competition among the boys and the girls. In this manner, they will work hard and pay serious attention to their studies. A feeling of comradeship will also develop between the boys and girls. The boys will not indulge in eve-teasing and the girls will not be afraid of boys. As a result, they will have a balanced development of their personality. Lastly, co-education system in school reduces gender bias in the society. It generates a feeling of equality between both sexes. If this system of education is given importance in our life, the feeling of male dominance may be wiped out from the society , and the women is given their right, thus creating a better world. Based on the advantages of co-education system which I had mentioned earlier, it is really clear that co-educational schools are better. Prepared by: Adilah Jasmine Azhar ( 4 ST/1 )
