HAPPY NEW YEAR


A very warm welcome back to school and a very Happy New Year to all our parents and friends.

Thank you also to Marie Slater who took some wonderful pictures during the afternoon. I will display these in the school in due course. after 9.00am to enquire as to where your child(ren) is. Can I also remind you that, where possible, family holidays should be taken during the school holidays. This is to reduce the educational impact of children missing school. If this cannot be avoided, a holiday request form is available from the School Office or home page of the school web site. I will review each case to determine whether authorisation can be given.

OFFICIAL OPENING

ABSENCES FROM SCHOOL


Can I take this opportunity to remind you that it is very important that you contact the school as soon as possible if your children will not be in school because they are ill, etc. We have a duty of care to ensure that all the children in school; if we do not hear from you, we will phone you shortly

FRONT OF SCHOOL
As you can see, the front of school still has some work to do in terms of reseeding and landscaping. We are waiting for the Spring to arrive before this is tackled. In the meantime, please try to keep to the paths to prevent the mud from spreading.

CLUBS
We have a number of clubs on offer for the children with more being added by staff as the term progresses. Monday - Football, run by Mr Richards from S4YC for all year groups (3.15-4.14pm) Wednesday - Little Thespians, run by Ravannes Theatre Group for Years R-4 (3.15-4.15pm) Wednesday - Multisports, run by Mr Richards from S4YC for all year groups (3.15-4.14pm) Thursday - Dodgeball, run by SportsXtra for all year groups (3.15-4.15pm) Friday - Choir, run by Mrs Cuthbert and Mrs Reid at lunchtime (until the end of January)

WATER BOTTLES
We have one water cooler in the new gallery area which the children are able to use during the school day. It is much better if they have a water bottle in school to drink from. Please send in a clean bottle (named) for the children to use. New bottles can be purchased from school (1.20) and replacement lids are also available (50p).
