1. Identify the features/characteristics they all have
Mastheads, Cover lines, Strap lines, Barcodes, Date, Price.

2. Why are these features present on all of the magazines? Why are they important?
They are present because a masthead names the magazines. They are important as it follows the conventions of most magazines. Cover lines tell you whats inside the magazine and images are eye catching so they can attract readers.

3. List 5 differences between the magazines and account (explain the reasons) for these differences
-Top of the pops is mainly pink in colour to attract a specific target audience. -Billboard doesnt have any quotes on the cover unlike top of the pops. -Q and Billboard have close ups of the artists where as the other two dont. -Billboard has a lot of white space on the cover unlike all the others. -NME is the only magazine to feature an instrument on its cover. 4. -Top of the pops is a pop genre of music -Contains mainstream artists such as Taylor Swift. -Pop is used in the title (Top of the pops). -Jonas Brothers are the main image and you are expected to know who they are. -Its a bright and colourful magazine.

I think the target audience of this magazine would be for teenage girls of white ethnicity due to the colours used (pink and yellow) which are associated with girls.
