Brad Homans. 1. What is a music magazine?

This is a header which is showing posters of artists that are included in the magazine. There is a bright masthead which shows everyone that it is a music magazine showing that it is KERRANG

The cover lines that are around the picture of the magazine, show titles which indicate that it is a music magazine.

The picture on the front of the magazine is one showing a rock band; its big and bold and catches your attention when you see it.

2. What content (text/copy/writing/articles/stories) would you expect to find in a music magazine In a music magazine you expect to find text and articles about specific bands and musicians, you normally find stories on their lives outside of music along with what new songs and tours that they are getting on with at the moment. In Music magazines you might also find interviews with artists along with news on upcoming concerts that people may go to or be interested in being a part of.

Images that are normally found in a magazine are large posters of the band or musician along with competition and changes to win prizes, with pictures of what can be won. Also may have pictures of the band as or adverts that maybe be placed along and throughout the magazine that are advertising selling things. They may just have general pictures of gossip, maybe some different pictures of artist, something that wasnt taken in a studio. 4. Identify general characteristics/ Features that you would expect to find in all music magazines?

Cover Lines- these are used to draw in the reader and also tell the what is going on in the magazines and tells them who is on the front of the magazine also, their name.

Masthead- Use to catch the audiences attention, normally big bold and bright colours is involved. The masthead will always be at the top so it can be seen over others magazine on the rack.

Date and barcodethese are found on all of the magazines so people can identify which is which. (Barcode on back for this magazine).

Main image- is normally a large picture which dominates the frame on the front cover, is used as a way for the audience to identify the person on the cover and draw them in.
