Social Studies

introduce Benjamin Franklin

Riding in the car is a great time to practice skip counting with your child. You can see how high your child can count before you get to a certain landmark. You can say and number, then your child says a number, and you go back and forth. The more often you practice, the easier it will be for your child. First graders should practice skip counting by 10s, 5s, and 2s to 100. Dont forget to have your child fill out his/her Valentine cards. This will make it more meaningful for your child and helps to practice good handwriting too!
