This week we reviewed our vowel sounds. I have really been working with your child to recognize these sounds in different aspects of reading and writing. We did different activities to help us isolate and differentiate between the different vowel sounds. When writing with your child please help them with hearing the different vowel sounds.

FYI:
This is one of the most wonderful times of the school year. It is a time of so much growth and learning!!! This is one of my favorite times of the school year :) Please remember the importance of making sure your child is at school each day.

Theme:

This week we decided we wanted to learn about snakes in Africa. We looked at two different snakes: the Gaboon Viper and the Green Mambo. We learned a few facts about each one and then we had a secret ballot. Your child filled out a piece of paper marking their vote. We pulled them out of the box and counted to see which one we will learn about. The Gaboon Viper won! We have begun the process of researching it. Next week we will each write our own research questions about the viper.

We have had lots of illness in our classroom. I have been encouraging and reminding your sweet children to wash their hands, cover, their mouths, use hand sanitizer, etc. Please help me in encouraging your child to use healthy habits. Thank you so much!

We also began working on making sure we can spell both our first and last names. I am working extra hard with your child to make sure they are making just the first letter capital and the rest lowercase.
