This week we started introducing long vowels. We discussed how vowels have a short sound and a long sound. The long vowel always says his name but we learned there are different ways to make the vowel say he name. We talked about the ninja e (or silent e); we also discussed different ways to make the vowels say their names. This week we really worked on listening for the difference. Next week we will really begin to focus more on the different rules for long vowels.

Theme:

Our Gaboon Viper finally has a home!! After lots of work your amazing little people have constructed a rainforest for her. We also began working in our Africa factbooks. The children wrote facts the learned about the Gaboon Viper and then made their our Gaboon Viper illustration. They were very excited about being authors of their very own book!
